Always reliable downtown (and mainly downstairs) bar with great food, great staff and a nice sidewalk patio. Part of the legendary Shanghai Tunnels of yesteryear.
Pros
Superb staff, fantastically dark in the basement, and the noodle bowls are crack. Excellent people watching from the patio during a mid summer afternoon.
Cons
Once a dark, asian themed smokey dungeon inhabited by the creme de la Portland hip. In recent years, the precarious dam that held back B&T revelers has finally burst, flooding the basement with gallons upon gallons of Axe for Men.
